While riding in your neighborhood, do you see safety concerns that should be fixed to make your ride safer? Follow our guide below to help advocate for safer streets.
Obstructions or other concerns- These obstructions are temporary and can often be easily fixed. This can be anything from signs placed in the bike lane to overgrown tree branches. Construction detours are often a problem that can cause confusion for anyone navigating them on foot, on bike or in a vehicle. Use ACHD's Contact Us form
Vehicles parked in the bike lane. Sometimes this is temporary, but always should be reported as these reports will help show where future enforcement may be needed. Do not report utility company vehicles as they often need to park there to do their job.

Do you encounter an intersection that you do not feel safe navigating or can not get to your common destinations because no safe route exists? There may be a plan to help correct this situation and it can be found in the neighborhood plans that ACHD has created with the help of the community. If you find your "project" in one of the neighborhood plans, then you can see if ACHD has included it in the Integrated Five Year Work Plan (IFYWP). The IFYWP is updated yearly and shows when projects will be designed and constructed.
ACHD Commission meetings are a great opportunity to learn about current projects and plans and provide input if desired. You can also watch the recorded meetings if you’re not able to attend. Meeting agendas are posted a couple days in advance. The Commission generally meets on the first, second, and third Wednesday of the month at noon. An evening meeting occurs on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. and every effort is made to schedule items of potential public interest for the evening meetings.
ACHD Contact Form- This will get routed to the planner or bike coordinator that can best answer the question.
Email your ACHD commissioner- Your commissioner was elected to address your concerns and often they have an "easy button" that can find the answer quickly or the ability to fast track a project. Email them using the information below to explain the concern and how it affects your commute to work or you family's ride to school.
