Smart Cycling 101 Class!

Led by League of American Bicyclists Cycling Instructors, you will learn valuable lessons to keep you riding safe and smart in nearly any condition. Our instructors are from the Treasure Valley Safe Routes to School Program and Treasure Valley Cycling Alliance and all hold LCI certificates.
The first part of the day in the classroom will cover:
Bike/Helmet fit
Safety tips for riding in traffic and in special bicycle facilities, such as green boxes, buffered bike lanes and multi-use paths.
Techniques for navigating road hazards and using emergency maneuvers
Idaho Bike/Traffic laws and your legal rights/responsibilities
The second half of the day will be on bike and will cover:
On bike emergency handling
Riding through all types of street features
Making left/right turns in traffic on streets with and without bike lanes
ABC quick check and minor repair tips such as flat fixes, quick fixes and tool kit "must haves."
Cost of the course is $30 and you will leave with the League Smart Cycling manual and a sense of confidence you might not have had before. You will be provided with the location address after registration.
Please dress for the weather, we will hold this class rain or shine.
Bring:
Bicycle you ride the most
Lock/Helmet/something to carry your supplies/Lights for your trip home
Lunch and water. We will provide light snacks in the classroom
